Social Media Internship

Sarah Best Strategy is looking for a part-time or full-time summer intern with a passion for social media marketing. As an intern, you will get hands-on experience developing content and implementing social media strategies for a variety of clients. While this is an unpaid internship, this is an opportunity to learn from an award-winning social media agency. Past interns have been hired at large advertising agencies in social media roles and have been invited back to Sarah Best Strategy for paid positions.

Role:
The Social Media Coordinator is an exciting position that works with every aspect of marketing. The primary responsibility will be to build and strengthen Vital Proteins’ connection with our passionate consumers via all online outlets and platforms, including social, blog and newsletter efforts. Our Social Media Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the daily monitoring and engaging of customers across multiple channels. Tracking people, growing platform following, and increasing viewers. This role will also aid in the execution of other key marketing initiatives, including but not limited to: online promotional campaigns, contests/giveaways, trade shows, demonstrations and sampling events.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day social media engagement activities and strategies
  • Manage, grow & strengthen online communities and overall web presence
  • Develop & consistently publish brand relevant content across all social media platforms in an effort to increase social footprint and drive engagement
  • Build & nurture a devoted online community through the execution of timely responses for all social media inquiries
  • Compile, analyze & interpret social media analytics tools to anticipate trends and identify strategies and opportunities for brand growth
  • Coordinate social media marketing with marketing associates and business development managers in each vertical market (wellness, fitness, and beauty)
  • Be the internal, key point of contact for general social media marketing coordination efforts, including basic online marketing tools and coupon code management
  • Some travel may be required to lead social media efforts at industry trade shows
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree - preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relative professional experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years social media experience
  • Strong eye for creative sensibilities, visual storytelling, personalized copy writing;
  • A social ‘native’ - Live and breath all things social with a constant finger on the pulse of latest trends and platforms
  • Understanding of the social media universe, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, Blogs, Periscope, and others
  • Obsessed with learning new techniques and tools
  • Love trying new things and you don't mind making mistakes while you learn
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must be creative and innovative with very high attention to detail
  • Act with sense of enthusiasm and urgency – a positive attitude required
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously
  • Proven capability for problem solving and never-ending resourcefulness; fearless
  • Experience with various social media management tools such as Sprout, Hootsuite, HubSpot, Radian6, Brandwatch, GroupHigh, Instagress, etc.
  • Adept at interpreting analytics tools used to develop and execute online revenue growth strategies and to uncover additional opportunities
  • Ability to clearly present ideas and concepts to internal teams as needed
  • Self-motivated and directed, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written and grammatical skills
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed
  • Outgoing, personable and friendly
  • Strong personal interest in health and wellness, fitness, and beauty markets
  • Passion for social and environmentally conscious lifestyle; organic food and beverages

Responsibilities:
  • Write content for Facebook and Twitter.
  • Curate content on relevant topics.
  • Schedule content through a social media management tool.
  • Assist with brand monitoring, community management, and monthly reporting.
  • Occasional help with office / administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college working toward a related degree such as Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, etc. Grad students also welcome.
  • Experience using social media platforms, including; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube,  Instagram, Snapchat and more for business, extracurricular activities, or class projects
  • Outstanding verbal, written and grammatical skills
  • A social ‘native’ - Live and breath all things social with a constant finger on the pulse of latest trends and platforms
  • Excited to learn new techniques and tools.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must be creative and innovative with very high attention to detail
  • Act with sense of enthusiasm and urgency – a positive attitude required
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously
  • Proven capability for problem solving and resourcefulness
  • Ability to ask questions; self-motivated and directed, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
