Since teaming up with Rescue Desk to develop an SEO strategy - including keyword research and local search optimization - this small-but-mighty business has enjoyed a steady increase in website visitors and social media followers.

The Challenge

Since its founding in 2008, Rescue Desk has supported solopreneurs, small business owners, nonprofits, associations, and busy executives through its team of virtual assistants. From single projects to monthly retainers, the team offers services in marketing and communications, project management, and high-level executive assistance. 

When this small-but-mighty business was ready to grow, Rescue Desk approached Sarah Best Strategy (SBS) for help in creating a more strategic digital marketing approach. Specifically, the Rescue Desk team hoped to:
  • ​Develop a time-efficient and cost-effective system for creating digital marketing content aligned with business goals
  • Attain more qualified leads outside of the business's immediate service radius
  • Achieve a growth rate that outpaced their normal attrition rate

The Idea

SBS identified a two-pronged approach that would boost the Rescue Desk team’s confidence in their digital marketing skills and ability to reach new audiences.

Our Same Page Content Planning Session introduced the Rescue Desk team to a time-efficient, repeatable process of planning social media content aligned with their business goals. During this whiteboarding session, SBS covered all the major components of social media strategy, including focused messaging, content pillars, audience journeys, metrics, hashtags, and more.

Then, SBS enhanced Rescue Desk’s reach through Keyword Research and Local Search Optimization. This included:
  • Optimization of Rescue Desk’s Google My Business listing to improve local search results and reach audiences in new target markets
  • 50 well-qualified keyword ideas, generated by research of competitors and other factors, to apply to the Rescue Desk website
  • Additional coaching to ensure the Rescue Desk team felt empowered to implement and track keywords on their website moving forward

The Results

  • The team gained a sense of “same pageness” around Rescue Desk’s marketing goals and key messages.
  • Staff felt empowered with repeatable processes and time-effective tools to create consistent and strategic social media content. As a result, this busy team has consistently posted quality content to all their channels since being trained by SBS.
